Zaporozhe... again?

So... I'm in Zaporozhe again! But I'm not serving here. I still serve in Nikolaev. Well, I'm told that I serve in Nikolaev. My new companion is Elder Harris, I'm here to pick him up, and I return to Nikolaev tomorrow. This time, I'm going to stay there! I hope...

Anyway, my last week with Elder Walker and Elder Knorpp went pretty good. Those guys are the best, even if last transfer was wonky. We taught English Practice, which actually has people coming to it again.

Elder Knorpp, it turns out, really likes paintings and literature. So, we went out, he bought a painting and some books, we talked with all of the people and made friends with them, and hopefully we'll be having more people coming to English practice. I also now have to determine the language of a mysterious book for the bookstore lady, so that's fun. I think it's Romainian. Or maybe Welsh.

We tried to eat a lot of food this week, because I need to gain weight. We ate a lot of brownies, borsch, frybread, pancakes... all the good, healthy stuff.

Well, I don't really know what else to say, so I'm gonna just cut it off here. Hope you all had a great week. Mine was cool, I'm just really tired.

Peace out!

Zaporozhe?

So, first off, sorry about not sending an email last week! I didn't have time because of the Weekly Language Tip! It's all good though, I got that out, and it's not my turn this week.

Anyway, 2 weeks ago is a really long time, so let it suffice to say that it was fun and I like my companions. They're pretty cool.

On into last week!

We played frisbee with our member friends again on Monday, and we also ate McDonald's. That was fun because we sat outside and these hilarious little birds crowded around us because Elder Knorpp started tossing out french fries at them. I don't even know how to describe these birds, you had to be there!

On Tuesday we had English practice with one person. That was decently cool. We also got haircuts, mine looks exceptionally good ;)

On Wednesday we traveled to Zaporozhe for Zone Conference. That was cool, except for the fact that, due to a communication failure, nobody was expecting us to be there, so we almost got in trouble for that. Fun.

Anyway, on Thursday I went to teach an investigator that Elder Knorpp and Elder Walker had while they still served in Zaporozhe. Ended up climbing a pear tree to get pears for him, which he promptly gave to us. that was fun in a white shirt and tie!

Friday was Zone Conference, which was cool. I had to translate the whole thing. Less cool. President uses a lot of big words and thoughts that I just have no idea how to translate into Russian. Very difficult.

We didn't do much of anything on Saturday. On Sunday we went to church, which was very good this week because our youth are all back from conference. Then Elder Walker and I made tortillas and spanish-ish rice. It was really good. Then we helped a member who wanted to donate some clothes to a family at church that's from Donetsk. For those not familiar with Ukraine, that's were the conflict is happening.

So, that was my week.

Peace out!

The Fearsome Threesome

This is what President has named my new companionship. I'm not joking, those are the words that came out of his mouth last night when he called to check up on us last night.

Anyway, I'm back in Nikolaev! I'm now serving with Elder Knorpp and Elder Walker, two Elders who agreed to be pulled from their area entirely to come and save me from Kherson. They're the best!

Yeah, the new mini-missionary bailed on me to move to Australia. But that's ok, because now I have 2 companions! Elder Knorpp plays guitar, and Elder Walker plays the ukelele, so we're going to find a way to use that well.

The last two weeks were interesting... It was a lot of traveling, and a lot of stress. Serving with Elder Ditty and Elder Fuller again was a non-stop party, but we still got work done.

I'm really just glad that I'm back in Nikolaev, even though all of the youth that we worked with on lessons and such left yesterday for a nationwide conference.

That's pretty much my life right now though. How's yours?

Peace out!
